Prior Lake Minnesota
Post 1 Auxiliary
donates a US Flag
for dedication ceremony.

Unit 1 Auxiliary (Sharon Jeffers) donated a US Flag to the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake Minnesota for a dedication ceremony of a newly constructed flag pole. This ceremony was part of a “Support Our Troops Fundraiser” at the Minneapolis Gun on Saturday, July 7, 2007.

The fundraiser included shooting games, a silent auction of sporting goods, a gun raffle and an appearance by a Blackhawk Helicopter from the Minnesota National Guard. There were several active duty military personnel on hand as well. All proceeds from the fundraiser were to be given to the Blue Star Mothers of Minnesota.

A highlight during the Fundraiser was a ceremony dedicating a new flagpole to the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Services. The flag donated by Minneapolis Auxiliary Unit 1 was delivered by Fifth District Officer Lynne Nottage and raised by the Minnesota Transitions High School JROTC Color Guard. The ceremony was concluded with a Twenty-One gun salute by The American Legion Post 1 Rifle Squad.

The Auxiliary Unit 1, American Legion Post 1, The Fifth District and the Minnesota Transitions High School JROTC were all very well represented at this special day that remembered all veterans.

Congratulations to all of you!!
